Founded in 1878, Rocky Mountain College is Montana's oldest institution of higher learning and one of the most distinctive in the American West. For eight consecutive years, Rocky has been ranked in the top 10 best comprehensive colleges in the West by U.S. News & World Report. A private comprehensive college offering more than twenty-seven liberal arts and professionally oriented majors, Rocky has a diverse population of approximately 1,000 students who come from thirty-seven states and twenty countries. The beautiful park-like campus is nestled in a quiet residential area of Billings, the economic capital of the northern Rocky Mountain Region, offering our students an abundance of cultural and recreational opportunities which include Yellowstone National Park, the Billings Symphony, the Yellowstone Art Museum, the Rimrock Opera, and the Western Heritage Center.
